For a limited time, Sidewinder Computers is offering a high-quality,
nickel-plated Heatkiller # 14015, for Socket 1366 systems. Effective 12/17/2009, this block now has a nickel and chrome plating applied.
The Heatkiller 3.0 CU
from Watercool is one of the top performing blocks on the market. Its all copper
construction makes it a perfect plating candidate for this plating job. Customers should understand
that each block has been touched with human hands and should not be considered a
"new" item. Typical variations from block to block will likely show some wear on
the Allen screws and oxidation on the copper base. Such issues are unavoidable
when plating only the top of the block, and do not affect performance. Complete
disassembly including removal of the steel plates, Nickel plating, Chrome Plating, reassembly
and a "breaking-in" of the threads were a very time-consuming, labor intensive
service, and courtesy of the RRTech plating
service.
