Improved heatsink for MSI Wind Netbook and other netbooks identical in
construction (i.e. Medion Akoya Mini 1210). This heatsink replaces the existing
and very thin heatsink inside the Wind Netbook with a heatsink machined from
massive aluminum. Due to high precision machining, the heatsink can be installed
using thermal compound instead of thermally conductive pads with very good
contact to the CPU, North- and Southbridge. The heat dissipation is
significantly improved resulting in a very low noise even during high CPU load.
Nevertheless, the windstille heatsink is a real light-weight: Weighing only
approximately 20 grams, the windstille heatsink is only slightly heavier than
the originally installed heatsink and does not compromise the ultra-portability
of the Netbook.
